A thangka is a painted banner which used to be hung in a monastery or family altar and carried by lamas in ceremonial processions. This thangka painting depicts the Lokeshwor deity. Mostly, thangkas are used for depicting Buddhist deity, scene or mandala. For, this thangka artist have used poster and antique color with gold on canvas. Thangka measures 13" of width and 15.5" of height perfect for wall decoration. Thangka painting is the only detailed description of the technique and principle of the thangka art. Thangka served as important teaching tool depicting different Buddhist deity.

Gautam Buddha is believed to have had 550 incarnations. Many previous Buddhas and other Buddhas yet to come are known as Buddhas, he has been callled sakyamuni, the son of king suddhodana and wueen Mayadevi. He was born in 563 B.C. at lumbini, westerb part of Nepal. He had attained "bodhi" or knowledege after 6 years in fasting and meditation and the he was called "buddha" as hw was " the enlightened one". He died at the age of 80 at kusinagara.
